Plato, The Allegory of the Cave: Discussion

I believe what Plato was saying when he quoted Homer was that It is better to have a poor master when ones self is poor so that you can relate with one another and be able to have a relationship better then just master and servant. This is telling us to find places that we can fit into so that we can live happily, and understand those around us. I agree with this statement because I know from experience that it is hard to live with people who you have nothing in common with.
