Audience and Genre relate to each other because with out one it is hard to determine the other. If you know the genre of a piece of writing then you should be a general type of audience associated with that genre and from there you can go into more specific audiences and the same goes for audience. For example if you are writing some sort of business report your audience will most likely be your business or your boss. While if your audience is you parents you might be writing a letter or some other form of personal writing, this is not always true however.
