Researching something about my place might be a little hard since my individual store doesn’t make much news. I can, however, research things that the whole franchise of HobbyTown has done. I had heard once that HobbyTown had an interesting story behind its initial creation. I think I will probably look for this story since I cannot remember what it was about. I can always ask the owner again for the story but I am going to try to find it in print for a better reference.
EDIT: While I haven't found exactly what I am looking for i did stumble accross the offical HobbyTown Blog at http://blog.hobbytown.com/page/11/
